Local Projects

Based in Orange Beach, Alabama, Dickerson Literacy Initiatives works within the local communities of Baldwin, Mobile and Escambia counties as well as nationwide. We work directly with schools, literacy foundations, civic organizations and churches in developing a wide variety of literacy projects. It is through this collaboration that we create and ensure a significant impact. We strive to bring the community together, sharing our vision for growth through literacy.

International Projects

DLI is working in Costa Rica, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and the Eastern Caribbean to create sustainable literacy projects. We partner and collaborate with the local ministry of education, in country Rotary Clubs, U.S. Rotary Clubs, Peace Corps Volunteers and RPCV to carefully design and implement literacy projects that align with and support the current needs and curriculum in the host country. Contact us today to see how you can be involved in one of our international literacy projects and personally see the difference that we can make together.

Literacy Projects in Honor or Memory

DLI works with honorary societies, foundations, families, schools, churches and funeral homes to carefully design literacy projects to honor someone special. For all those who impacted our lives to honor them while they are living or to honor them in loving memory after they’ve passed, this project is deeply meaningful to all those involved. Unlimited options exist for customizing this type of project. Stickers are placed inside each donated book to carry on a legacy.
